Hi I’m Jason Mraz, and when I’m not busy spinning the microphone or serving chocolate pudding to a bunch of cougars, I’m celebrating new music, like these artists whom I’m absolutely crazy about.
Lisa Hannigan – We first heard her paired up with Damien Rice on the Romantically Tragic “O.” Now she’s flying solo and bringing her brand of angelic folk to the USA to be a part of our fall tour. Her voice is the sound of the clouds, only we can't hear it due to the cabin pressure. Finally she comes down to earth to delight us.
Ingrid Michaelson – This bookworm is bound for greatness with her buttery yet conversational vocals and melodies. Her myzpace page that’z been hit a bajillion timez advertizes the euro-tour with jazon mraz. I’m crazy about a girl who’s crazy about the z’s. We welcome her modern-retro-style to our stage.
Lykke Li – Super Swedish Super Amazing Super-Star. Lykke is a hybrid of Bjork, Goldfrapp, Feist, and Cat Power, but remains fresh and sultry. A real gem. A rare find.
Dawn Mitschele – (pronounced Mi-shel-lee) Dawn is a San Diego someone we love to spar, sing, and share harmonies with. Check out TWO of her latest videos.
Mayhem is Beautiful.
This song is a hidden track from Bushwalla's latest release, and Dawn is a strong presence. My favorite video moment is Dawn’s feline legs dancing at the end. Fun Fact: this video was filmed in my Avocado Grove.

Such a beautiful song and a fun concept to see a few different sides of Dawn. Fun Fact: I did her hair.
I didn't do her hair. But in 2001, I purchased a beautiful Taylor 612 acoustic guitar from San Diego/Chicago Jazz Poet/Troubadouress Joy Eden Harrison. I would use the instrument for many years in coffee shops and clubs all around the world, handing it over to Dave Matthews at the gorge, and recording my first two studio and live albums with it. Last year I sold it to Dawn after a long day of guitar shopping and not finding what she was describing in her dreams. I had retired the guitar from my stage and it was doing no good in my closet. The minute she dug her fingers in between the strings I knew she was next in line to play the soft mahogany machine. Today, it is my pleasure to hear Dawn making such great music while the guitar nurtures another inspiring career.

If you're diggin' those chicas you should check out the collaboration of Ultra Orange and Emmanuelle. I've been listening to them as of late and would recommend it to ANYONE who loves the beautiful, musically-inclined ladies.
And "Mayhem is Beautiful" is just stunning. I love singing Dawn's part while I'm cruisin'.
I'll have to check out the rest of your list and make it a treat for the ears.

She's a real spitfire. The tracks she doesn't have up right now are absolutely sassy, and the one track about being pickpocketed is hilarious. She just got her debut record released on iTunes, so if you get a second, you should check it out! I have a million more "unknowns" that I feel like telling you to check out, but if you ever get bored, you can check out the webzine I'm writing to you from. We feature new "undiscovered" talent every week, and it's always really great shit. I wrote about you, actually, back in the day. We've evolved a bit since then...haha We'll be moving to a much cooler and less cluttered environment very soon, as soon as I finish all the damn coding!
Anyway, this was far longer than I intended. I sent you a message on myspace a few days ago, which I'm sure you will never see... buried beneath all of the fan mail... haha But if we can ever use your music for our online radio show, please let me know! I'll probably write elsewhere about this too, just so someone sees it.

absolutely love her songs that i have some songs on my ipod. love bushwalla's music. its the only rap ill listen to. quite odd.
this is going way off the post. but if you have time to watch some dramas. this one is good. finished watching it today. watched it in two days. the drama is called 1 liters of tears. made me cry alot.
basically its based on a dairy of a girl that had spinal cellebrum degeneration. she was diagnosed when she was 15. she passed away when she was 25 in 1988 i think.
the books has sold 1.9 million copies. im trying to find the translated version of the book. i know its out there except quite difficult to find.
the drama has english subtitles. its in japanese.

I watched Dawn perform at a Bushwalla concert about a month ago at Mueller and boy is she amazing. A super sweet person too. The music videos are great. Just went to Billy's 2nd Annual Kickball game on Saturday and that was a blast. Anyway, I'm glad to see you using your blog to promote these great artists.

So God alligned his stars in such a way as to allow me to go to your concert at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. I'm so so excited. Turns out I had the wrong dates for the scrapbooking weekend and it's actually the weekend of your concern. Hooray for me. I'll have to familiarize myself with Lisa Hannigan's music. funny thing though, My hubby is so worried about me going alone, that he is sending my sister and her friend to go with me. So, since they don't know your music I have made sure they are fully equiped and I'm sure you'll get two more fans out of it!!!
I was a little bummed out, Holli said "Jason Mraz finally got back to us and they will not be allowing taping at the denver show." Well that bites! No Photography either. Well, I guess I'll just have to enjoy the view and remember it forever! I'm a scrapbooker, pics are my thing. Just noticed on your tour page, you are enjoying a nice break! I hope you enjoy it! I am sure it is wonderful to reflect on the first half of the tour! Cannot wait to see what is in store for the states! I will see you in Seattle, 2nd Row, Chelsea the Stage stormer won't be with me this time...she is having a hard time getting past the thousands that have seen her on you tube! Just wanted to thank you for pointing out these lovely ladies. I had already fallen in love with Dawn in "Mayhem is Beautiful" back when I got the Fire Relief cd, and somewhere along the way I had bumped into Ingrid Michaelson's myspace, but I managed to forget how much I love her. This time, I've added their beautiful voices to my playlist, along with a few others I found along the way (including Bess Ross, Jenny Owens Young, & Jacob Golden).
